Looking for something to do over Memorial Day weekend with the kids? The Weston Memorial Day Fair may just be the answer.

Taking place at the Hurlbutt Elementary School in Weston Connecticut on Saturday May 24 to Monday May 26, 2008, the Weston Memorial Day Fair has something for everyone. There will be rides, games, and lots of eats! Hours of operation are 12:00pm to 9:00pm on Saturday and Sunday and 12:00pm to 5:00pm on Monday.

While admission is free, you must purchase ride tickets for each attraction.

Many of you know that in addition to Westport-Kids.com, I also run a parenting tips site NeenMachine.com. I often get the opportunity to host some awesome family oriented giveaways on that site. Memorial Day Parade in Westport Connecticut

The annual Memorial Day Parade in Westport Connecticut will take place at 9 a.m. on Monday May 26, 2008.

The parade will begin at Saugatuck Elementary School and follow Riverside Ave. to a right onto Post Road West. The parade will then turn onto Myrtle Ave., go past Town Hall, to Main Street where it will end in Parker Harding Plaza.

There will be cermonies on the green across from Town Hall after the parade.

Minds in Motion 2008 is coming to Westport Connecticut on March 29, 2008. This program is presented by the Westport Public Schools and Connecticut Association for the Gifted. Structured as fun afternoon filled with workshops for motivated learners this program for children in grades K-8 will stimulate the minds of many. Free workshops for parents will also be offered during that time.

Film Making Class in Westport Connecticut

Middle school students in Westport Connecticut are invited to enroll in a set of 4 classes called - The Art of Filmmaking.

This workshop is conducted by the Westport Arts Center and will be held for four Thursdays in a row beginning on March 6, 2008 from 6 pm to 8 pm at Staple High School.

Students will learn about making a short film and will divide into smaller groups to create there own Public Service Announcement short film.

The teacher is Patrick McCullough who has a long history of writing directing and producing.

Westport Historical Society Holds Winter Break Programs

The Westport Historical Society in Westport Connecticut will be holding programs for Westport Connecticut area kids during the February winter break. Designed for children ages 6 to 10 the programs will include crafts, acting, play, culinary arts, and special guests.

Valentine’s Celebration at Swaddle Toddle & Bump

Fairfield County Child, another awesome website about things to do with kids in Fairfield County, and Swaddle Toddle & Bump, a new Westport Connecticut store geared towards children 7 and under have paired up to host a Valentine’s celebration at the Swaddle Toddle & Bump store in Westport Connecticut.

This Valentine’s extravaganza will include stories for the kids, fun with stickers, and lots of good eats from local bakeries. While the kids are entertained moms get to shop at Swaddle Toddle & Bump, and will enjoy a 15% discount on all purchases.

Reservations should be made by February 2, 2008 and are required. At the time of reservation you will be asked for a credit card and be charged $15 which will then be credited to your purchases made during the party.

The festivities will take place on Saturday February 9, 2008 from 10 am to 1 pm with a snow date set for February 16. For those of you that don’t know - Swaddle Toddle & Bump is located at 125 Post Road East in Westport Connecticut.
